This thing IS on!

As we embark into 2023 in an increasingly unpredictable world, I’m grateful for the friends we’ve made, the relationships we have and continue to build, and the many individuals and family that help support us through all of life’s challenges. A quote I saw recently said, “our friends are the family members we choose”. So true!

I’ve been working at Smartsheet for the last two years doing design support on many types of projects. I’ve been able to work with some amazing people there, and will continue that relationship throughout 2023 as I take on some new creative projects with their product marketing team. Working with so many different types of people, I’m often helped and reminded by the C.S. Lewis quote, “Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.”

You Oughta be in Pictures

A little background. As a professional photographer, I take a lot of photos...it goes without saying right? When I get a break and take a vacation, I usually leave all the equipment behind, grab my little point and shoot, and even with that, take it out only for a few "we were here" type of shots. I want to enjoy and actually experience my vacation and not photograph it and experience it later. Does this sound familiar? Do you spend half your time taking pics which end up blurry or never leave your cell phone? Is the family tired of mom/dad taking their photo for the 100th time? "Selfies" anyone? If you're the type who likes to photograph every moment of your vacation then read no further.

If you'd like to leave all the gadgets behind but still have those moments to remember, then this may be just the ticket for you.

Imagine taking a wonderful vacation or going on a retreat with your family, loved ones or friends, and enjoying each moment, camera/gadget-free. A few days later after arriving home, you're sent a link to all your photos of all those great memories you just had. But wait, who took those photos? That's where we come in!

What we're offering:

• We meet you on your vacation, retreat or other special occasion and tag along with you to capture all your best memories.
• You get to enjoy your vacation and have professional photos of it without the hassle. You cover the travel expenses plus a fee for the service and I provide all your memories.
• Every outing is different and we will work with you to find the right balance, but generally, our shoot fee will be around $800-2,500 for the entire trip. All the photos (low/high resolution) we take are included in the package.

Family Time

Like most people, you're busy and have a laundry list of things to do each day including some actual laundry. Time spent with your family can take a back seat to all the other fire-drills that life provides. There are so many options competing for your time including all the activities that school (band, sports, etc.), work and other extra-curricular events supply.

As a photographer, I get a tiny peek into the lives of the people I photograph. The families we photograph are unique and diverse and one common thread that is often said after each session is, in effect, "thanks for getting our family together". I'm happy to be the source for some family time and love to see how everyone gets into it once the shooting begins. Think of it as a time to spend together and connect and not something to check off your list. It's also a small investment where you get to take away lasting memories.

Whether you book with us or not, enjoy some family time in your own unique way — whether it's a vacation, sports, building something or whatever you like to do together — now is the time to do it.

Listening

I've never learned anything from talking, but I've learned a lot of observing, asking questions and listening.​

As no two people are the same, no photo shoot is ever the same.​ In consulting with clients and planning out the shoot, we'll go over what kind of photos you want, who you'll be bringing to the shoot, prints and other display options.

The discussion also opens up thoughts about new ideas and creative aspects that are available to you, whether it be locations, clothes or a specific style of photographs. If you're after a specific "look", we can accommodate that as well.

Connection

We all have different reasons for getting new photos taken. For work or fun, a new job, wedding, special event, or we want to document a particular time in our life or that of a family member. There are a myriad of reasons to get photographs and even more not too.

In order for you to come away with awesome photos, a level of trust must be established—a connection—so you feel truly comfortable with the process and we get the best "you" in all your photos. Sometimes it happens immediately and with others, it takes some coaxing, but we'll both know it when that happens.

When you have your photographs taken with us, you'll have a great experience and we guarantee you'll be happy with what we do or your shoot is on us. We want you to look your best and feel your best so that your photos are something you can be proud of.​
